Mom, Baker and Blogger Behind Bake The Edge Off

HELLO! I want to take a chance to introduce myself. I’m the mom, baker and blogger behind Bake the Edge Off! If you’ve been here, you know I love baking sweet treats and decorating fun cakes for special occasions!

My name is Anna and I’m a mom of three beautiful babes. I have a 3 year old, 21 month old and just gave birth to our newest member about a month ago! Our new babes arrival is why I’ve slowed down adding posts recently, but it’s also opened my eyes to what else I want to use this blog for.

I want to use this blog to talk more about my journey and what has led me to start this blog and of course share some of the ways I bake the edge off for my kids!

The Mom Behind Bake the Edge Off:

Let’s rewind about 10 years ago…I worked in the mortgage industry for 9 years up until about a year ago when I decided to leave the industry. At the time, I had two kids under the age of 3 and was tired of leaving my kids for majority of the day with babysitters. I knew that there had to be more out there for me and my family that would give that time back to me and my kids.

I started by turning to cake baking!

My love for baking and decorating cakes started on my oldest daughter’s first birthday. Her birthday is at the beginning of January and when I went to order a cute cake for her first birthday, I was surprised to find that every single bakery I called was closed! Apparently once the holidays are over it’s common for bakery’s to close for a couple weeks to recoup after the busy season.

I decided in that moment that I better get good at making cakes since I’ll have to do it myself for every one of my daughters birthdays! I’m so happy I did because I absolutely LOVE it! It’s so fun bringing party themes to life with a delicious cake!

My daughter’s first birthday theme was “Winter ONEderland”, and here’s a picture of the first ever cake I decorated! I learned so much in that first experience, and figured it turned out pretty good so I could only get better from there!

Cakes:

When I left my job a year ago, I decided to open my doors to bake cakes and sweet treats for those in my area. If you’re in the Cleveland area, I’d love to help bring your party theme to life with a custom cake! Put in a request here! I’ve had so much fun with the creativity that goes along with cake baking and decorating and it’s really given me the opportunity to fine tune some recipes and decorating techniques over the past year.

Check out these amazing cakes I’ve had the pleasure of creating over the past year!

In the midst of creating all of these delicious treats, I figured why not share the recipes and decorating tips with anyone who might benefit? So Bake The Edge Off was born!

I also have an Etsy shop where you can order some of my signature vegan chocolate chip cookies to be delivered right to your door!

So that’s me! I’m the mom, baker and blogger behind Bake the Edge Off! I’m still new to the whole blog world but have learned so much and continue to learn more and more each day and I’m just excited to be able to share everything with all of you along the way!
